Arrived in Madrid today to speak at the Unibike cycling trade show at the weekend.
The presentation of lunch was initially very off-putting – but in the end very tasty.
Who had the idea that fish simulating crocodile eating itself made the food more interesting? A high risk strategy indeed.

I Do Not Despair 
Oh, yes, I have had uglier……and in Spain. Spaniards have little sense of ‘squeamishness’….they like their food as it comes. How about half a sheep’s head (with chips!), teeth in a permanent rictus and eyeball looking up at you? Or a disgusting bowl of pigs trotters swimming around in gunk! And I haven’t mentioned bull’s testicles or sweetbreads……
