I am assured that the three peaks of the mountain circuit from Taichung are the measure by which all local riders are judged, with the local clubs and pro-groups regularly thrashing round in a form of survival of the fittest.
With 140km in my legs from yesterday I was mighty relieved that my hosts decided two peaks was enough for us today. Wonder why when you look at my GPS elevation tracker?
More images and stories to come – but here’s a taster!
I have read previously about riding in Taiwan. It must be really nice!

Its a mixed bag from what i saw. Quite built up roads where I was but I am told the East coast is even more spectacular and much quieter.

The East Coast is amazing riding. The air is better, there is less traffic, and it is a tad more bucolic. That said, you still get all the Taoist and Buddhist temples (with the addition of aboriginal churches) to give visual appeal and good food is never far away.
