    • Hmm. I guess I was reacting to the fact that cyclists in other countries are perhaps “abnormal” – sports, hipsters, fixies, off road.

      It is just so matter of fact and especially nice to see kids being kids, but on bikes. Not supervised, not dressed in suits of armour, just chatting and travelling.

  1. looks like cycle heaven, although maybe haven might have a few more hills – get a lot of dutch tourists around my local area – often wonder what they make of our cycling culture

    • I will write up the day’s touring in a few days time. But it would be fair to say on a day with a lot of head winds I would have been happy for the occasional ripple in the landscape.

      Perhaps that’s the benefit of northern England!
